Diabetes Treatment differs from person to person due to factors yet to be identified before the right medication should be prescribed. The attending physician has to identify what type of Diabetes is present in the patient. Aside from that, he should also know more about the person's medical history should there be another active medical problem such as high blood pressure or even cataracts. Age and gender is also to be considered. What support should be given to these people especially if they have just found out that they have Diabetes? Well, moral support should be the first one to be given.

Diabetes Treatment appears to be performed for a long period of time so it would be best for family members to extend their financial and emotional support. The treatment for Type I diabetic patients does not start with insulin shots alone. They are required to maintain a very healthy diet and exercise around two a week. High impact exercises are to be avoided since their blood sugar levels might drop low and result to a coma or even death. The patient must be educated on the causes of this disease as well as the treatment so he will not be caught unaware.

Diabetes Treatment involves family participation especially if the diabetic is already a senior citizen. Should he be a Type I diabetic, insulin shots must be administered through his thighs or on the stomach; twice or three times a day preferably around mealtimes. It not to be taken orally since it would be destroyed in the stomach before it gets to the blood. Doctors also recommend that the patients be educated on how to directly inject insulin should their family members are unavailable. They should also understand why Diabetes is killing millions of Americans so proper treatment should be followed at all times.

Always remember that not all sugars are dangerous. Some are needed to balance the glucose production and release to the important organs in the body. It is also advisable to read literatures or articles that tackle on the different ways for caring for diabetics.
