Pomegranate juice can slow down the development of prostate cancer

Drink a glass of pomegranate juice everyday can remarkably slow down the development of.

The researchers say that pomegranate has a chemical substance that can kill the cancer cells which are harmful to the healthy ones.

A research group of California University , American, have examined 50 men who had had prostate cancer surgery or radiation therapy, but now the disease appears to recur. The cancer cells can be watched through the content of a chemical substance called PSA.

The researchers learnt about the time for PSA to gain double in content, which means that the disease is developing rapidly.

On average, PSA needs about 15 months to gain double in content, but for the patients who drink pomegranate juice everyday, it takes 54 months. Some men remained the low PSA content for over 3 years although they have not had any therapy except for pomegranate juice.

The leading researcher, Allan Pantuck said "I was surprised to see the remarkable slow down of PSA content"

"With the men had prostate cancer surgery, we gave them pomegranate juice and it helped them to resist death".

Pomegranate juice is known of the effect resisting inflammation and high content of anti-oxygenation substance which prevent the body from the destruction of root-cells. It also content Isoflavone, which takes an important roll in killing the cancer cells.
