Calling All Type 1 Diabetics. Have you met other diabetics with both type 1 & type 2 diabetes? This is referred to as Double Diabetes or hybrid diabetes. I like hybrid better, this sounds more like a car than a disorder doesn't it? According to medical reports this double-dose mostly consists of type 1 diabetics, who become obese with high blood pressure. Is this not a quick incentive for keeping that excess weight off permanently? The scary thing about D.D. is according to a recent diabetic study 30% of all newly diagnosed cases among children involve youths with both type 1 & type 2 diabetes. This has become a growing phenomenon according to doctors.
Obesity is an unhealthy ratio of weight to height. Just 13% of Americans were obese in 1960, only growing yearly according to John Hopkins University. They predict by the year 2015 nearly 75% of Americans will be overweight. I don't know about you, but that is a scary thought especially if you currently don't have a weight

problem. There is a bigger factor to being obese, it's your life at stake. Not what other's might be saying about the way you look. Your personality might only change a bit when you gain excess weight by the way others might treat you. Or the way you might treat yourself if you have a lower self-esteem since the weight gain.
The diabetic lesson today is Don't become a Statistic. Portion control, eat less while exercising more. Eat a well balanced diet with plenty of vegetables & fruit. Cut out diet drinks, drink plenty of healthy water.
